Cindy's Celebration of Life Service - January 9th at Warwick Academy - 2pm

How to say goodbye….

You sit to write a poem

And pause at how to start

You want the words to be just right

And come straight from your heart

But how to share a lifetime

Of memories and love

A true reflection of the one

Now watching from above

Should you begin at where you first

Laid eyes upon this angel

At 26 you saw her sit

A vision at that table

Upon a cruise ship you both worked

A moment then you knew

Her smile, her laugh her angel eyes

Forever she’d be with you

And after 3 years you’d leave that life

And travel to my home

You trusted I would care for you

You’d never be alone

We settled in Bermuda

I took you as my bride

For this was just the very start

As two became … one life

Within a year that number changed

For we now had a boy

And when they laid him in your arms

Your face… just so much joy

A second cherib then a third

And now a baby girl

The two became a house of six

And rearranged our world

The friends we made were many

And so much fun we had

They stood there by our side

In times both good and bad

We learned the road is never

As smooth as what they say

But if you stand together

You make it… day by day

The 10 years become 30

And then before you know

The babies that were once so small

How suddenly they’d grow

Reflecting on the pictures that

We once had shot together

Now just a mere reflection of

What seemed would last forever.

So coming to the answer

This question I now try

How does one ever find a way

To say the words goodbye

The answer is there are no words

You never say goodbye

And though you change your life

In every way you try

The person that you once held dear

You laughed with and you cried

Is not a phone call now away

You have to face she died

But she’s not gone and here today

We celebrate her life

Although not present she still lives on

A mother, friend and wife

Oh Cindy what you etched upon

Our souls will last a while

For when we close our eyes and drift

We’ll always see that smile

Memories with Friends

Memories with her Children

Memories with Mark
